Cloud Recording FAQs

What is the new cloud recording policy?

The new policy will keep cloud recordings for 1 year from the date they are recorded. The cloud recordings will automatically be deleted after that date.

What happens to cloud recordings that were done in the past?

Any cloud recordings that were done prior to January 1st, 2021 will not be deleted until January 1st, 2023.

What can I do if I want to keep a cloud recording for a longer period?

If you wish to keep any cloud recordings for a longer period you can download them. Please note that cloud recordings are rarely if ever, viewed more than a year from when the recording was done. It is only necessary to download those that will be needed for longer than 1 year.

To download, in the top right corner of the cloud recording screen you will find a download link, clicking it will initiate the download. (see image below)

If I requested a cloud recording in the past and received the link to view and download the cloud recording, is there a way to request the link to be re-sent?

If you are unable to find the email containing the link to the cloud recording you can re-submit a request by emailing [email protected] and include room name, and date of the recording. Please note, turn around time on these will be 2-4 business days.

When does the new cloud recording policy begin?

The new policy applies to all cloud recordings beginning January 1st, 2021.

How can I share a cloud recording that has been downloaded?

Downloaded cloud recordings can be uploaded to other shared drives / storage areas that your organization utilizes. Please refer to your company policies and procedures for further guidance on this subject.

Is there anything happening to Local recordings that I have done?

Any local recordings that you have done remain as they are. Local recordings are those that are saved to your computer.

Where can I save downloaded cloud recordings?

Downloaded cloud recordings can be saved to your computer or uploaded to other shared drives / storage areas that your organization utilizes. Please refer to your company policies and procedures for further guidance on this subject.
